“Faith means making a virtue out of not thinking. It's nothing to brag about, and those who preach faith, and enable it and elevate it are our intellectual slaveholders, keeping mankind in bondage to fantasy and nonsense that has spawned and justified so much lunacy and destruction.”

Bill Maher

I absolutely love the way that Bill Maher aggressively speaks the truth in ways that are meaningful, intellectual and helpful. He can dissect the opines of virtually any Xtian.

  2. John Says:

I have heard it said that religion is the lazy man’s way of thinking as it takes no effort to spout what you are told to say. To waste ones entire life in the pursuit of an old Dark Age ghost story is a self inflected waste of your life. To inflict the same on the innocent is a crime. I try to never miss a show.

” It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit.” (SURAH 36, AYAT 40)

Can some goat herder wrote this and be sure about it and this phenomenon survives up to this day?
Ask Bill Mayer to explain this.

The Atheists can only use fancy language trying to refute but without substance.

  5. Hypatia Says:

sol: “Can some goat herder wrote this and be sure about it”

No, because Mo was illiterate – he couldn’t write anything could he.

It doesn’t appear to make sense either. It doesn’t provide a clear statement of the heliocentric nature of the solar system thus it simply reflects the common view of the time.

    You’re so easily fooled Sol.

  6. solomon Says:

If so he is illiterate then why most of the time your lots accuse the book was written by some goat herder? This automatically implies that it was not written by some goat herder, it was the word of god. Its you that is easily fooled by SATAN. Those phenomenon are proofs that exist until today or human to witness it. If its not fool proof something else might happen to the moon or sun. The sun may loose its fire or the moon might have gone away and never appear the next day. Think about it you fools.

  7. solomon Says:

Cite a single example of any phenomenon contain in the Qoran that has ceased to appear or happen on to this day.

  8. PEB Says:

    Too easy:

Quran 7: 54 “Your gurdian-Lord is Allah who created the heavens and earth in Six Days.” Basic science 101 – Allah didn’t create the earth.

Quran 15: 19 “And the earth We have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon Mountains firm and immovable.” The earth is not flat.

Quran 96: 2 “Created man, out of a mere clot of congealed blood” – Nope.

Quran 44: 58 “Verily, We have made This Quran easy in the tongue, in order that they may give heed.” If it was so easy then why do several hundred islamic factions translate the quran to suit their own needs?

  9. PEB Says:

    Not to mention:

Quran 86;7 “semen comes from the backbone and ribs”
Quran, 71:16 “placed the moon as a light”
Quran 7;54 “the sun is not a star”
Quran 13;2 “earth has invisible pillars keeping up the heavens”

plus many, many other examples of tripe that I could cut & paste all day.

  10. Hypatia Says:

Sol – you didn’t know Mo was illiterate? You’ve got some reading to do young man!

  11. Bornagain A. Theist Says:

Here’s a new magazine of ammunition, PEB. Your aim is excellent:

  12. SeanG Says:

I have such a love/hate for Bill Maher. How can he be so sharp and witty about religion and be so far off the fringe on science and medicine?

  13. solomon Says:

You clearly misunderstood me. What made you think I did’nt know mohammad was illiterate?
I was referring to most of you Atheist said it “some goat herder wrote it”. I did’nt say anything regarding Mohammad wrote it.

  14. solomon Says:

Your ‘citings’ are just to twist the true meaning of the verses in the Qoran. I’am reluctant to correct it coz everybody knows your views are plain bashing.
And another thing you still have’nt cite any phenomena that still happens up to this day like the pouring of clean water from the sky & that sort.

  15. H t k a Says:

Well after Reading the above posts I’m so much more educated.Yes after a quick perusal I’m almost certain that some of you are, how you say it ahh Koo Ko.You make no sense.

  16. CaptainZero1969 Says:

Quran 15: 19 “And the earth We have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon Mountains firm and immovable.” The earth is not flat.

Mountains are neither firm nor immovable. Plate tectonics. There are shell fish fossils at the tops of the tallest mountains. What’s the Muslim answer to this? Did god put them there to fool us? Tosh.

The Quran reads EXACTLY as you would expect it to read if it was written by a greedy and power hungry xenophobe with no more than an average understanding of the world common for the time. If he was around today he’d be arrested for polygamy and pedophilia.

SeanG – I’m with you – Maher is entertaining as hell – until he starts his anti-vax bullshit.

  17. Hypatia Says:

If he was around today he’d be arrested for polygamy and pedophilia

And for banditry, murder and rape.

  18. John Says:

Don’t forget that even the readers of those books would most likely tare and feather the charlatan.

  19. mrbig Says:

There are two classes of men:
    intelligent men without religion,
    and religious men without intelligence.
    Abu Ala Al-Ma’arri,
    Arab philosopher 973 – 1057 AD

  20. solomon Says:

The verse does not in any way imply the earth is flat. It describe the vastness of its area and the plants and trees seems like the surface of a carpet from afar. You are talking about the mere lousy shell fish fossils at the top of the mountain. How many % of the mountain is made of the lousy shells? If mountain is comprised mainly of lousy shells then there are hardly any mountains that you can see today. Why don’t you mention other loose items like soil that is also found on mountains? Plate tectonics are just part of a minor movements and does not effect the whole structure of the mountain. You just don’t have enough argument are’nt you?

    And mr big,

do I categorise somewhat like=and religious men with intelligence

Ahh Koo Ko…..I like that…..Whaaaa ka ka ka….

    (do feed the theist)

  21. CaptainZero1969 Says:

So, Sol denies that mountains are created by plate tectonics. Colossal, stupendous, towering ignorance. It’s a whole lot like arguing that water isn’t wet or that oxygen is optional for humans.

There’s a place a couple hours from where I live called Pinnacles which is the best example I’ve seen in person. It’s a very interesting rock formation which was cut in half by the movement of the pacific plate. The other half is located about 350 miles south in L.A. Amazing place if you’re ever in the neighborhood.

  22. John Says:

Water is optional when one gots’ a brew in dah right hand and dah piece of pizza n dah left!!! Would you not agree??

    DFTT or Htka = tech??

  23. solomon Says:

‘So, Sol denies that mountains are created by plate tectonics.’
Don’t try to twist my statement . I said “Plate tectonics are just part of a minor movements and does not effect the whole structure of the mountain.” which implies the movement won’t crumble the whole mountain.I did’nt mention theres no movement at all. And which of my statement I deny mountains are created by plate tectonics?
