“I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modelled after our own – a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbour such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism.”

Albert Einstein1879 – 1955

Truth is not the product of imagination. Truth is whats goin on daily, the movements of planets, earthquakes, catastrophies, wars, famines take it whatever one describes. Truth are not only sweets & roses. We have to live with it whether we like it or not.So its nothing ridiculous if God impose such rules to keep law and order. Einstein’s probe into God’s authority is unnecessary.

You are totally correct in your first sentence, solomon. Truth, is not a product of imagination, yet the entire god hypothesis is the culmination of centuries of collective thoughts of men. Your inclusion of war and famine, etc., only furthers the notion that your tiny, pathetic god cannot even control their own creation. So is your wizard in the sky all powerful?

Can I respectfully suggest that Solomon spend rather less time on this site and a lot more time improving his understanding of the english language. When Einstein says he “cannot imagine a god…….” , that is anything but a “probe into god’s authority”. Capiche??

    Mike G,
I’am totally & all along right for standing to my views, thank you for your recognition. So my claim that truth is not the product of imagination but the product of real life still stands.

    Grumpy Old Git,
Let me remind you, we are not in the middle of an English class or forum. If you want to comment regarding English or language, you can browse to some other English sites.
Indeed Einstein probe into God’s authority, when one reads the rest of the sentence. Don’t think I don’t understands Einstein’s intentions. And you Grumpy just can’t think of other significant issue to present an argument.

Will the atheists just stop from the stupid idea that everything that exists is not created. Everything is created & God repeats his creations. Its not the stupid evolution. Its all depicted in the book.

  7. Braathwaat Says:

Solomon, if everything is created then who or what created God?

  8. Atheros Says:

    Nice one Mr. E 🙂

Solomon – shh! Your logic is flawed.

  9. John Says:

Everyone know that man created god.

  10. solomon Says:

God is not created, he exists on his own. The logic is not within our imagination.

  11. Braathwaat Says:

If it’s possible to believe that god was not created then it’s possible to believe that the cosmo’s were not created.

This is an excellent quote from Albert and pretty much confirms his agnosticism and reason for it. I’m sure it resonates with all of us on the forum. I’ve read several pieces from him that elaborate on the theme of his reluctance to believe in a personal god but his acceptance that there are many mysteries that cannot yet be explained by nature. Coming from such a mind it’s huimbling to know that I arrived at the same place without the ability to articulate it quite as well.

  13. GodKilla Says:

Anyone else have a commnet about the quote or are we going to get sucked into the vortex or pointless circular arguments again?
