If you doubt creationism is the absolute logic to every existence, then find other explainations that can refute it. Evolution? It could’nt even provide a portion of a trillion part of existence for an explanation. It can’t even answere ‘who create the 1st. Design of everything. Cite one explaination if you can, be it science or other bullshits.

I don’t mind being proselytised to so much as I mind the threat of my life being mandated by someone else’s beliefs. People can believe whatever bollocks they want to believe. I don’t mind if they want to share those beliefs as long as they are prepared to have them ridiculed when they are ridiculous. But I don’t want to live in a society that passes laws on the basis of bollocks. I want a rational, scientifically informed, secular society that guarantees my right to not believe in the fairies at the bottom of someone else’s garden.

I would agree with the quote that religion is a waste of time. Quibbling over the semantic differences/similarities of atheism vs rationalism is not exactly divisive, but I don’t see the point.

The different denominations of Christianity attack each other, and also other non-Christian religions, but they all unite to resist atheism/rationality or whatever label we use to describe ourselves. They can apply whatever negative connotations they want to any label we use, so using more titles or more descriptors of ourselves only provides more targets. It does not diminish the attacks from those who wish to impose their ideology on those who disagree with them. It is still a fundamental issue of freedom of thought. Religion’s attack on freethought(yet another label) is not based on reason, as today’s quote affirms. Yet, because nonbelievers are ostracized, we must expend the time to defend our ideas and attack attempts to proselytize us. Even if religion is a waste of time, it is out there and has to be confronted.
