it means the catholic church has been pushing the ” CELEBRITY ” of the pope for centuries………………

I thought it alluded to Christianity being just one big personality cult, but come to think of it, the Pope, the martyrs and the saints are all pushed as celebrities as well!

And yeah, it is a bit ridiculous for the leader of the biggest cult of personality in the world to decry the ‘culture of celebrity’. The non-sequiturs that have come pouring out of the holy see of late have the pathetic feel of ‘pay no attention to the man behind the curtain’ don’t they? Clearly Mr. Wizard is feeling a bit raw from the constant revelations of rot-at-the-top.
