  1. Terence Meaden Says:

The facts in question are the totality of all the scientific discoveries of recent centuries and more. They include cosmology, astronomy and evolution. Together they sink creationism, which is one of the fantasies to which Sam Harris was referring.

    * The facts in question are the totality of all the scientific discoveries of recent centuries and more. *

That is a reverential statment (full of pride and stretching credulity).

    * Together they sink creationism, which is one of the fantasies to which Sam Harris was referring. *

I have not seen the scientific fact yet that disputes the involvment of metaphysical actions to mold existentialism from disorganized to organized.

  3. Terence Meaden Says:

Yes full of pride for the achievements of science.

It does not stretch credulity to claim that the consensus of the work of millions of scientists over several centuries is correct.

If you are supporting creationism, please come out with it and say so.

There is no justification in having pride in the misuse of science. Science doesn`t achieve anything. It is neither bad or good. It is a tool that can be misused as well as applicable to benefitial pursuits.

    * It does not stretch credulity to claim *

It is incredulous to make the claim you made. And this claim of yours is not the same as the claim that I was contesting. You basically said that religion conflicts with every scientific fact and that is a load of crapola.

    * the consensus of the work of millions of scientists over several centuries is correct. *

That is a reverential position. It indicates to me that you misuse science as a religion. The claim of consensus among scientist over many centuries is a fable. You don`t have to look very hard to find inconsistencies in understanding between differing scientific disciplines. Data compiled through the process of science is NEVER the finnished product.

    * If you are supporting creationism, please come out with it and say so. *

I believe the scriptures. They say that things are as they were framed at the behest of God. I WILL NOT submit to your idea of what constitutes creationism. You are not qualified to construct that for someone else who already has their own construction of it based upon a greater understanding of scripture than you will ever be motivated to attain.

    “a greater understanding of scripture”

What is the value of this statement?

  6. Thunder Says:

    * What is the value of this statement? *

That isn`t a statment it is a clause. I suspect you want to avail yourself of an opportunity to express your antipathy toward scripture.

  7. Thunder Says:

    * What is the value of this statement? *

Ok. The value of an intimate knowledge of scripture for an atheist is to self-verify the pertinence of their rebuttals or nullifications.
