“By all means let an observant Jewish adult male have his raw-cut penis placed in the mouth of a rabbi. By all means let grown women who distrust their clitoris or their labia have them sawn away by some other wretched adult female. But the conscription of the unprotected child for these purposes is something that even the most dedicated secularist can safely describe as a sin.”

    Sin? Child abuse.

  2. Jezebel Says:

These are brutally barbaric and meaningless customs for any human being.

I tend to see ‘sin’ as a meaningless word, archaic and from as distant a time as the vile books it comes from.
As for involuntary amputations of body parts, that’s criminal. While I can’t say I miss my foreskin I wasn’t given a choice and can’t know what was lost for health reasons or otherwise. Most certainly the theft if female genitalia is a most vile crime worse than rape and on the order of facial mutilation if not worse, it should be punished as such not in any way protected let alone supported by some sorry excuse for law.

Start prosecuting the perpetrators of these evil crimes, and don’t be mealy-mouthed about “cultural practices”.
It would then stop within a short period of time
