“Islam is a totalitarian ideology. It rules every aspect of life – economics, family law, whatever. It has religious symbols, it has a God, it has a book – but it's not a religion. It can be compared with totalitarian ideologies like Communism or Fascism. There is no country where Islam is dominant where you have a real democracy, a real separation between church and state. Islam is totally contrary to our values.”

Geert Wilders

I wonder how that’s any different from Christianity or any other religion when they get a monopolistic upper hand in a society.

    The difference is Semtex’

    to Doubting Tom……………

    i could not agree more.

It’s certainly no different to Christianity in the middle ages. Difference is, despite Christianity still being established in some countries (includingg the U.K) its influence has diminished subtantially since the enlightenment.
Islam is still in control of countries that, in effect, are still in the middle ages and desperately in need of an enlightenment of their own.

Off Topic. My apologies. For my detractors yesterday.

I scientific theory only holds as long as there is no proof to the contrary. There is plenty of proof to the contrary. The global warming movement “climate change” is a global power and money grab by the “red” environmentalists.

Patrick Moore, founder of Greenpeace, left his own organization when he realized that an enflux of communists had co-opted his movement.

@ Heretic – 1000 sounds like a big number but I’m not convinced it’s particularly relevant. I perused many of the quotes provided by “scientists” and what is striking is that there don’t seem to be many from whom climate is their area of expertise. I do not expect a climate specialist to be an expert on mitochondria so why would I take seriously his pronouncement that ‘mitochondria cause AIDS’?

Among those that study the topic seriously there is not serious disagreement. There are certainly climatologists that disagree. Those disagreements are expected and healthy. To say there’s a conspiracy sounds childish to me.

Say 99 oncologists tell you you have treatable liver cancer that is at stage 1. Then, your kids pediatrician tells you that it might just go away and there’s no rush to treat it. I know whose advice I’d follow and I’m betting you’d do the same.

    Heretic,
    *facepalm*

…as creationists will be happy to tell you, there are many more thousands of scientists who dissent on evolution.
Science is done with data and experiments, not by survey. To wit, we asked you for a scientific citation, and, *surprise*, you didn’t give one.

John Tyndall (1861) identified through laboratory experiments the absorption of thermal radiation by a variety of molecules, including CO2. No one has ever overturned the conclusions from this simple experiment; indeed, a great many scientists have confirmed it.

    Learn some science, please.

Facepalm yourself. This seems to be your religion. Because that is all that it is.

  9. Dan Says:

    Heretic,
And how exactly is chemistry a religion?
