15th July 2011

“The maintenance of secrecy, the avoidance of scandal, the protection of the reputation of the [Catholic] church and the preservation of its assets… All other considerations, including the welfare of children and justice for victims, were subordinated to these priorities.”

And yet in spite of this, millions of catholics choose to stay loyal to the festering den of evil we call the catholic church. Inexplicable.

My mother, a lazy, pick and choose Catholic, maintains that pederasty and corruption in the Church is a mostly a lie. It’s some kind of a conspiracy perpetrated by non-believers or people who are simply out to get them (Catholics). A good friend of mine who is, in all other areas, completely opinionated and intolerant of bullshit in any form claims that there are similarly bad elements in all religions and in every segment of society and that The Church doesn’t have a corner on negativity or corruption. She assumes the role of hostile victim whenever the subject of molestation and corruption comes up.
I guess it stands to reason that otherwise intelligent people who discount thousands of scientific facts, theories, processes and logical, viable outlooks and opinions in favor of ignorant human constructs would also find a way to be completely blind to the blatant criminal activities which riddle the Catholic system. I still find it appallingly unreasonable.

I am bemused by the defenders who say that the pederasts in the RC church merely reflect the wider population. This is the church that would have us believe it is better than because its functionaries are paragons of excellence through knowing the “one true god”™. It also maintains that it has the right to lecture us all – believers and non believers alike – and to impose its dogmas through government edicts. One would expect better from such a body – if its claims held any validity.

If a government department, or a public or private company had employees that behaved as these people have done and its executives had systematically covered up the disgrace with lies, threats and menaces, what would have happened to the employees from the chief executive down?

I’m gonna assert, without evidence, that the way the RC church mints it’s priests is directly responsible for these crimes. They are the products of decades of sexual repression. Repression of basic and natural desires does bad things to people. It can twist their psychology and help them to justify appalling behavior. It’s the same reason why christian minister and conservative politician sex scandals are often gay sex scandals – they had to hide for years who they really were because they know their communities won’t accept them. Sad, Tragic, unnecessary and in this case criminal. And religiously inspired bigotry lies at the heart.

Pretending to show atheists are wise guys and believers are the bad ones? Atheists are hypocrites and liars!
Let me strip naked their agenda.
Deep beneath their hearts lies a never ending urgh to wipe true religion
out from this world which they will never ever succeed given all the time they require. Always peep for a chance or loopholes to twist the words from believers even if it is not meant to be mean or being used in a different context.

More like we just want grown-ups to stop believing in mythology. I mean mythology is nice and all in a poetic sense, but let’s be honest: it isn’t REAL.

  9. solomon Says:

    Yeah…like your nose..
    “It isn’t real”
    Clever…
