    They should, but they won’t.
They have no valid case to answer; but if they think they can, then they should try, and try hard because we would welcome the total ending of all Submission/Islam violence. Unfortunately, many suras call for violence or achieving success by quieter means.

“Islam has caused more damage to the national dignity and honour of non-Arab Muslims than any other calamity that may have affected them; yet they believe that this faith is the ambassador of equality and love. This is a fiction which has been presented as a fact with unparalleled skill. The Islamic love of mankind is a myth; hatred of non-Muslims is the pivot of the Islamic existence. It not only declares all dissidents as the denizens of hell but also seeks to ignite a permanent fire of tension between the Muslims and non-Muslims; it is far more lethal than Karl Marx’s idea of social conflict, which he hatched to keep his theory alive.” Anwar Shaikh. Unfortunately, an intellectual approach is least likely to be used by any fundamentalist organization. If they had intellectual tendencies, they wold not be fundies.

Fundamentalism requires it’s adherents to be ignorant and thoughtless automatons living a non-examined life in oblivion of intelligent thought.
