“God, is genuinely missing, as far as physics is concerned, which is why he's never mentioned in the textbooks. On the other hand, in anthropology, archaeology and other human sciences, there are plenty of gods, but they are treated realistically as what they are: human cultural creations.”

Just so you’re not left all alone today, R J, I have to say I agree with you!

Although the presenter on a TV-for-schools programme about physics that I saw in the 1960s said “we don’t know why god made [some physical phenomenon] in this way”. He was trying to push religion into scientific education. He must have been indoctrinated and/or a bonehead.

I’m just glad we no longer have to rip the beating heart out of a prisoner’s chest to make sure the sun rises every day. What a mess – though the architecture was spectacular!

If only the Aztecs and other Native Americans had more resistance to Small Pox and bullets, we might have a VERY different religion to rail against on this site.

    wait a minute !

we DONT have to rip a heart out every day ?!?

    uh-oh…………………..

  5. Jeff Says:

R J: Just ’cause we don’t have to, it doesn’t mean that an occasional heart ripping moment isn’t in order. In fact, I can think of a few that need to be ripped off just for openers…
