It is funny how religious people constantly fail to recognize that the opposite of being religious is not being religious.

Everywhere you read an opinion on atheists or atheism you also find the religious describing atheism as dogma, as a type of faith, equating this kind of thinking as another kind of faith.

It seems impossible for the religious to see a person living without giving any consideration to some supernatural entity. It is as if the possibility couldn’t exist.

This strikes me as particularly odd when their explanation for the existence of god inevitably leads to the old Pascal’s wager. Like “I believe just in case god exists”.

I find it odd that they don’t also belive in all manner of silly superstitiion, you know just in case.

I don’t go camping because Sasquatch might exist? I avoid Scotland on the basis that the Loch Ness monster might exist? I go to chuch and worship this supposed diety on the basis that he might exist?

What a weird way to live you life?

Something that strikes me as particularly foul is the tax exempt status of religious organizations.

Add to the the federal funding of churches. Yes federal funding! Not only are churches exempt but people like Mitt Romney, who live off their investments, paying only 15% of their income in taxes, and then donating 10% of their income to churches.

I pay a greater percentage than Mitt’s taxes and titheing in taxes alone!

This effectively translates into the federal funding of churches!

If Mitt paid more in taxes than me, as a percentage of his income, and then contributed to his church that would be different. That he pays less equates to a violation of the Constitution

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”

Rich people don’t need tax breaks to make it easier to fund churches!

Corporations will be people when Texas executes one.

Atheism is a religion when it has chaplains in the military, tax exempt churches and ordained ministers.

it is appalling to think there are people
