The image of a crazed evangelical screaming about the end of times, or the lunatic muslim firing an automatic weapon in a public place come to mind.

Looked up Hari, as you suggested RJ, and I’ll admit that I was less than impressed. On the other hand, in this minor matter he seems to be correct. And Sinjin, I’d include the folks in the miters pronouncing on subjects of which they are supposed to have no experience whatsoever along with the two you named.

I like this quote. It reminds me of “the arc of history bends toward justice”. It is always the priestly class that has to be dragged toward justice, modernity, and better understandings of moral issues. They are always the ones decrying progress and trying to retard it. The louder they rail against you the better you are doing. By that measure fellow godless we’re doing fine.
