7th March 2012

“The techniques of conversion targeting the vulnerable, building false friendships with the lonely or troubled, promising to relieve people of the most fundamental dreads of human existence, from the fear of mortality to the numbing pain of grief, gave to the process an awful cruelty and dishonesty.”

Chris Hedges son of a Presbyterian minister, Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, identifies himself as a “socialist” in contrast to what he sees as “ruthless totalitarian capitalism”

While I am in agreement with today’s quote I see hypocrisy in Chris Hedges.

Religious socialist and compassionate human, to me, represent square peg and round hole. Reminds me of Arthur Miller, a man who lived and greately enjoyed the capitalist dream built upon a play demonizing capitalism?

In this day and age of bloggers and media types who create niches for themselves through polarized positions that frequently do not represent their honest viewpoints but attempt to gain popularity through juvenile shock jock absurdity. I’d like to see a person’s integrity hold true.
