well, i’d say this quote is arguable. humans can ( and do )

commit evil constantly………and for any reason they

happen to settle on. religious ” convictions ” are actually

some of the more insane ( and I think hilarious )

motivators of human evil………..but, any old reason wiil

    do !!!!

i’m not rushing things along, mind you , but one of the

reasons i look forward to death is my final deliverance

from the hideous human beings on this sad old planet.

humans are ADSOLUTELY the worst creatures on

earth………………….and evil is what they do best.

R J – I agree with you that people are capable of terrible things all on their own, and religion and other ideologies give them excuses to behave badly. Over time, these excuses have become accepted by societies and as a result they become engrained in the culture. Then our problems are magnified.

Many animals do what appear to be terrible things, probably at the behest of their genes. Lions killing cubs fathered by the former head of their pride, ants wiping out rival nests, parasites condemning other animals to become living incubators and food supplies for the parasites’ young. The list goes on, but we can see the ultimate reason for the aggressors’ actions.

Our species probably has these urges too, and our ability to think and plan has given us much, but I sometimes wonder if the ideological perversion of this ability is – if you like – our species’ dark side.

Your pessimistic view is understandable, but I hope you are wrong and that we are slowly improving. If not, then it will be a mercy to the other species on this planet if our species were to become extinct.
