It would also appear that neither Jews, Christians nor Muslims can either arrive at or admit to this simple fact. When the Jews tried to found a secular state, they ended up with Israel. The Christians, no matter the particular denomination, decry it when someone tells them that they live in a secular state. Don’t even mention the Muslims, who seem to have a dream of the universal caliphate. Until we can convince religious leaders that the secular state is the only one in which multiple religions can co-exist in peace. The problem being, of course, that they all dream of being the only one that has any say.
