Organization is spelled incorrectly

A neat epigram
—although atheism is not an organisation/organization.
I have seen this or something closely similar before, and may be able to supply an author’s name.
As for -ise or -ize, I’ll check the authority “Fowler’s Modern English Usage”.

“organisation” is a common spelling in England but perhaps not in the USA.

It would be good to fairly assign blame to someone 😉

I’m pretty sure this is a George Carlin quote.

At school (in England) I was taught to use -ize where there was any doubt about which to pick. When I wrote “The Electrical Resistance of Metals” in 1965, the editors at Plenum Press (New York) said they would change to
-ise as their preference. So when I founded the Tornado and Storm Research Organisation in 1974, I chose -ise.
Fowler writes about these difficulties, and concludes it would easier for the whole world if we all plumped for -ise.
