“The introduction of sharia law in Britain raises complex questions, as some of its basic tenets are incompatible with the fundamental principles of our liberal democracy and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. There is no equality before the law between men and women and between Muslims and non-Muslims; and there is no freedom to choose and change religion.”

My guess is that they are like cockroaches, but I digress. Why did Britain allow this stupidity in the first place? Multiculturalism? Political Correctness? What utterly stupid notions.

The problem, my friend, lies not with the stars but with themselves. The UK starts out with a state religion (Church of England) which is still Duke(ing) it out with the RCC even when the Queen sits at the head of the Church. Starting from there, adding in a multicultural environment, which is the result of the breakup of the Empire, you get the result noted in the quote.

Of course, we in the states don’t have it all that much better, mostly because SCOTUS keeps reading the First Amendment with an article that isn’t in the text; i.e.: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion” keeps being read as though it was “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of A religion” which is a BIG difference in a little word.
