  1. The Heretic Says:

Lack of religion does not change human beings when it comes to war. It is just less fanatical. Mao was not religious. Nor Stalin. Nor Pol Pot. Hitler was Catholic, but didn’t wage war on Europe over it. Oh, we would eliminate a few scuffles. Irish v. England for example. Muslims against – oh everyone, including Muslims. Pakistan v. India, but I repeat myself. Muslims. Most of the major war campaigns/murdering sprees of the last 100 years had little to do with religion. Stupid quote.

  2. Will Says:

Holly said “maybe.” Your dismissive word “stupid” demeans, oh, your entire post.

  3. Sinjin Smythe Says:

TH you should revisit what you know of Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler, and the religious in general.

How they were raised, their influences, and their allegiances all point to a cozier relation with religion that you suggest.

It is a gentle jab of a quote with its vein of truth being that were more atheists running the world we’d have less war.

That is a fair statement, you know it is. To say this knowledge is ubiquitous is to highlight the obvious.

  4. The Heretic Says:

I do not believe that eliminating religion would result in less war. The lack of value placed on life these days screams the opposite.

  5. Sinjin Smythe Says:

…and the center of that lack of value? The very most religious places on Earth.

Then, the safest places on Earth? The very least religious places.

You can not credibly deny that.

Belief in life after death, belief in apocalypse/end times, in defending faith are at their best unnecessary, at their worse the foundation for man’s inhumanity to man.
