“At university, where I studied biology and learned about evolution, I wanted to know if Homo erectus had a soul and the priest couldn't answer me.”

As an atheist fan of Jesuit education, I can tell you that they teach evolution just a completely as they teach every other subject, and that includes Theology. These are learned men, and that includes just about every subject under the sun. Every Jesuit is a priest, but before they start their divinity education they must have an advanced degree in another subject. Many hold multiple doctorates, and even in the high schools, it’s not unusual to find the name of the teacher on the title page of the textbook. If you see the letters SJ after someone’s name, they are a Jesuit, and it’s most often listed as Dr. X, PhD, SJ. They are the most intellectually honest of all the priesthood of any religion, which is why there are more Jesuit heretics than any other Catholic order.
