Actually, I think there may be a positive argument for atheism, based upon proving that any intervention of a deity into this physical universe would result in the destruction of said universe.
Dan, I agree. One cannot prove a negative. That being said, the question of who created the creator is a good one. If the Creator doesn’t require a creator, then perhaps the universe doesn’t require one either.
this was an argument formulated by carl sagan in his early days. he argued exactly that… if theist are willing to concede God has always existed, then why cant non-theist argue the universe has always existed.

There is no argument FOR atheism. There are only (very good) arguments AGAINST theism.
One might as well try to explain how they plan to grow bald hairs on their scalp.

That’s a counter-argument to theism, not an argument of atheism.
Try arguing for atheism without mentioning even one god. I don’t think you can do it. I know I can’t.
