“A Jewish state would not have come into being without the uprooting of 700,000 Palestinians. Therefore it was necessary to uproot them.”

    Oy vey!

Does this quote ever open up a can of worms!

Persecution of the Jews at the hands of other religious majorities is well documented and fairly consistent throughout written history. They were victims of horrible racist, religious and genocidal abuse. That said, does being a victim of abuse authorize you to abuse others?

The facts that there is no god and that the Jewish people still consider themselves the people “chosen” by the non-existent god does not bode well for their intellectual supremacy in this ongoing conflict that will likely last for several more generations.

I can’t see any solution to this religious morass. Were it not for the equally false beliefs of both parties there would be no conflict. DNA testing has shown that the “Palestinians” and the “Jews” are from exactly the same stock. There is no chosen anything except in the sense that we’ve all been chosen by natural selection as survivors. Without religion, no inquisition, no holocaust, no crusades… Without the stultifying effects of religion maybe even no Stalin, who used communism in the place of religion with a malleable population.

I am often quite blunt and non-PC in my comments. I once said something along the lines of, “Why does the United States give special position to the Jews in Palestine? They are just a bunch of ragheads like all the others over there – constantly fighting among themselves.” I actually know that there is a lot more at play, but at my very softest, I totally agree with “Critic”, above.
