Better off without him around, I would have thought. There are already enough theists trying to swing factions of this parliament and other parliaments this way or that way.
The EU would do better to adopt principles similar to those of the founding fathers of the USA and keep religion out it, to distance themselves from Rat the Pope and other believers of the impossible, and stress that only atheistic neutralism can unify world politics.
