Well, all I can say is: “Fuckin’-A, hell yea!!!!!!”

Morality is, by definition, defined by the local standard. The Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48: defines morality as: “The quality of an action which renders it good; the conformity of an act to the accepted standard of right.”

Of course the religious folk would take the meaning from the second part of the definition assuming that conformity to the accepted standard is all that matters. And, as you may have guessed, I take the meaning from the first definition.

An action which is good is not necessarily one that is in accord with the mob. Rather, it is the one that does the most good for the most folks. I insist that that the atheist view does exactly that.

I realize that the above was not particularly enlightening, but when I see that someone as erudite as the late A.C.C. has the same outlook as I do, I lose control. Sorry.

As an aside, seeing, “2001: A Space Odyssey,” with my Dad in 1969 was one of the defining events of my life. Sorry to be so sappy…perhaps it was that 4th gin-and-tonic….Cheers!
