“It's the nature of the people who are not believers that they're individuals, they're individualistic. They don't join and all lock arms and say, 'We all believe this and so it must be true because we have strength in numbers.'”

Amen brother Bill, Amen!
In 1492 only one man thought the earth was round.
Everyone else thought that it was flat. The masses got it wrong!
They may have arrived at their conclusion by reading the bible!
“Then the devil led Jesus to the top of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and all their splendor”
Mark 4:8

BTW Ox, you may also read Daniel 4:10, Isaiah 11:12 and Revelation 7:1
And you can quote me on that. π

Well, I’m not so sure that Bill is correct with this one. It seems that we are doing exactly that – hanging out on a forum that supports and promotes our atheistic views, feeling emboldened by the strength in our growing numbers.
Remember Steve Martin’s nonconformists oath – repeat after me:
“I promise to be different.”
“I promise to be unique.”
“I promise not to repeat things other people say.”

I was thinking Bill’s point was the “‘We all believe this and so it must be true…” since the scientific community starts with a theory and then goes for the PROOF. Where theists gather around and say the proof is in the believing without evidence. That was my take on it. π

You canβt sell stupidity, but you can disguise it as religion and make millions.

Embrace the FSM and Pastafarianism or be damned! Oh, and buy a shirt. Preferably a pirate one.

At the very least, read the hate mail that the Church of the FSM gets. It is truly a wonderful read.

OMFG! Thats the first time I visited the Flying Spaghetti Monster site.
It was gut busting hilarious! I haven’t laughed so hard in months! Thank you guys, I was wondering where I’d go for a good laugh now that G. Carlin is meeting his worms.

Hi there, Baron von Knifty.
Liked your quote.
This quote by Maher is a little too convoluted for me to understand, thus respond to.
I don’t like quotes that require so much speculation that everyone interprets it their own way.
That ambiguity reminds me too much of the Bible.
