Atheists describe scientific facts and proofs as the truth, and everyone’s religion as superstition.

“Do you want the truth?
You can’t handle the truth!
The truth is, you want me on that wall!
You need me on that wall…” ~ Jack Nicholson ~ A Few Good Men
But seriously folks, this is not the ultimatum that should really matter.
The truth is, religious radicals kill people, atheists do not, for the sake of their beliefs. It matters not that an individuals beliefs are truthful, as ‘truth’ is in itself a belief. It does matter when that individual forces others to accept their beliefs as the truth, through violence and oppression.

The parallel that I always use is that the difference between belief and superstition is whether or not you take it seriously or whether you believe it yourself.
