    If an anticipated good thing doesn’t happen, I didn’t “deserve” it. If a bad thing happens god must disapprove of the way I’m living my life. If a good thing does happen, I must have done something to please god. Friends, thinking like this is how the “rain dance” came to be.

    Bill was asking a rhetorical question, since he already knows the answer.

    George Carlin prayed to a milk jug and achieved the same 50/50 results for answered prayers. Hmmmm, that made me thirsty, later! 🙂
