From what context is this taken?

the prince of peace!

The context is “I have not come to bring peace, but a sword..” sort of context. We might want to toss in some, “Ask anything in my name and I will do it for you..” for good measure..

well, in fairness to him, he was basically saying that his teachings would cause ideological conflicts
was he wrong?

If he was God he must have known that for thousands of years many people would take each of his words literally (except of course when he said that his 2nd coming would happen & that “this generation will not pass away before this happens”.)

Well what do you expect? God impregnates a virgin to give birth to himself so he can expunge the “sins” of a pair of people that never lived. Same God that killed everyone on earth except for the family of an abusive drunk (Noah). Is it really hard to think this asshole’s bastard son would fall far from the tree? There is no context that makes Jebus’ words other than what they are: insane rants from one of a long line of religious hysterics. And we’re to believe that if we eat the body of this zombie we gain eternal life. Does anyone stop to consider exactly how long eternity is?
