“It is not the strength of the Christian Church that promotes scientific discovery in the West, rather it is it's weakening that has allowed our progress. The effect of theocracy on progress can be seen across the Islamic world where an inverse relationship between theocratic power and scientific endeavour can be seen.”

I agree with the quote but I’m annoyed with its construction because I don’t think ANYONE would make the assertion that Christianity promotes science. After centuries of persecution of scientists how could one? Other than that, completely true from my perspective, unforgivable apostrophes notwithstanding.
