“They felt that science would be corrosive to religious belief and they were worried about it. Damn it, I think they were right. It is corrosive to religious belief and it's a good thing.”

It always amazes me that despite overwhelming evidence some people want creationism taught to our children. Genesis was dreamt up by people who could simply not comprehend how they got there. Ancient Egyptians believed the sun god Ra was responsible for the sun rise every morning. Christians would not want their children being taught that this ‘could be’ an alternative as to why the sun rises every day because it simply doesn’t make sense now we are all familiar with the basic facts.
What amazes me more (irritates is a better word) is people who say “oh…but you shouldn’t take the bible literally. We don’t really believe the earth was created in 7 days or that Noah and his lucky animals survived a flood”. Oh really! So they have chosen to believe some bits (that just so happen to coincide with their own agenda) but not others. There is absolutely nothing you can say when arguing with people like this.

That is the very reason they want creationism taught in the Public Schools… to raise more superstitious bible brain washed idiots!
