“We are witnessing the dawn of a new age, when humans are realizing the value and potential of our individuality and intelligence. The times of being made to feel ashamed or subordinate for asking logical, reasonable questions and demanding evidence for ridiculous claims are over.”

I like questions for which there are answers, but some things in life require faith too. I do not claim to know it all nor do I want to know it all. I,m too tied up with my own life.I have little time to pry in to why this person believes this and the other one believes that. GOD has been real good to me and boast his NAME every chance I get.

Oh PS:There no such thing as a stupid question. But on the other hand there are more questions than answers. No one on this earth or in our universe has the right to question GOD.

  3. PEB Says:

As humans we are free to entertain theories but always strive for answers. God was one theory thought up a long time ago to answer “how did we get here?”.
Evidence has since been uncovered that we are in fact the product of millions of years of evolution. It’s quite simple really!

I’m not sure I fully agree with the quote though. I think this “new age” started with Darwin.

    Its your quote!!!!!!!!!

  5. The Heretic Says:

The Age of Enlightenment started with Logic and Reason (Voltaire, Hobbes, Locke), and then Darwin came to the table with Science. Oh if only we could invite logic and reason back to the table…….

I’d have to disagree with this quote, at least at present. Globally people are flocking to religion in droves. The economic depression is a large part of the problem. Islam is growing by leaps and bounds and will likely overtake Christianity in numbers well before the end of this century. Once that happens, it will stamp all other religions out like a virus …and no doubt free thinking along with it. Sadly the human race is light years from breaking the shackles of thoughtless faiths.

  7. PEB Says:

Don’t believe the hype! I’m not sure where you got your information from but religion is taking it’s dying breath.

Well fellows this my last comment on anything said on this sight. I don,t agree with most everything said here.Nothing positive ,Very little truth and a lot of jibberish. So I,ll end on this note PRAISE THE LORD AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL. I would like to say that it was a pleasure but i don,t lie.Good bye all.

I’m not sure what’s going on world-wide put the Pew Forum’s religious identification survey clearly shows a surge away from the monotheisms and growth in atheism and agnosticism. Religion has been in retreat in Europe for quite some time. The biggest growth for religiomythic thinking is in Africa and South East Asia for the Catholic and Islamic varieties respectively. It seems to me like it’s settling along economic lines. If you live in a rich western country, you’ll end up secular, if you live in a poor country, you’ll continue to be fed on by sexually repressed priestly parasites.

I hope you folks are right about that, because I keep hearing that the Muslim faith is growing by leaps and bounds. Of course that could merely be Christians who are fearful of no longer being the dominant religion in the world. Time will tell. Although I did see a report stating that Muslims are immigrating to western and European countries with alarming speed and that they tend to have much larger families. I’ll see if I can find that segment and post a link.

Here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kKkY5EpVpY It seems that it is indeed a christian, “call to action” video …whatever that means.

Actually Holysmokes is exactly correct. Demographically a people needs to produce at a rate of 2.1 to maintain their population at current levels. This means – two parents produce at least two children. The rates in the 1st world are not keeping up at all. In Europe this is particularly devestating. In Spain, Italy, and Russia the rates are under 1.3. Whereas the immigrated Muslims are in the 5.0 range and higher. This means that in the next generation or three, Muslims will become a majority population in Europe. Europe will effectively become Eurasia. Across the world, most populations are shrinking. Japan is also, at a startling rate, but they do not have a Muslim immigration issue. The US is sitting at 2.1, only because of the influx of hispanic immigrants. Our Muslim population is only in the single digit percentages as yet. If atheism is becoming prominant in some areas – it is not in the Muslim world, currently estimated to be in the 1.5 billion range worldwide. At current rates of expansion and retraction, the Earth’s domographic is not going to be recognizable in 50 years.
