Lovely and concise. And true. People have always made gods that look like themselves and their societies. Which is why the god of Abraham is a merciless savage, born as he was amongst barbarous middle Eastern tribesmen.

Yeah, well, theomorphic beings are going to have a tendency to portray God/gods anthropomorphically. We are little bundles of irony wrapped in paradox. Plus, you gotta love Voltaire.

  3. Holysmokes Says:

I dunno, considering the size of my midsection, I don’t think anyone could call me a “little bundle” of anything. lol

Oxy, When you contemplate god, what do you imagine it to be? I promise I’m not being snarky. You are like my believing friends – contemplative and aware of (but not bothered) by the paradoxes of your faith. Good people, though I disagree with them on the source of their goodness. So wen you consider god, what are your expectations? Is it a personal god that talks to you? A grand mystery, of pantheist construction? I hope you don’t mind me asking.

    Dear Chris,
Be more carefull with your tounge if you don’t want it to be burned in Hell.Who says anything about the god of Abraham looks anything like human?
You are spreading Lies!Nobody knows what God of Abraham looks like, even Abraham himself have no idea what his god looks like.
