The quote again irritates me by sparing the rest of the holy books from the same valid criticism.
You’re behind the physics curve, Sol. HoYava gravity may do away with the concept of the big bang in favor of a cycling universe. HoYava also does away with the need for “dark energy” and “dark matter” which always seemed like a fudge to me anyway, layman though I am.
I’m not sure what religious types will do if a better theory rules out a singularity, that is, a beginning. But this illustrates the fundamental virtue of science – that it will drop old ideas in favor of new ones that are better supported by the evidence. Science is unsentimental. Less rigorous systems of thought, like religion, aren’t capable of this kind of course correction and are instead dragged forward by the moderating influences of society.
Dear CaptainZero1969,
True followers of god will nowhere be behind of any circles of knowledge either its physics or science or astronomy or whatever it is. But science does not always find the ultimate answer to every occuring phenomenon. It always keeps on changing, always not absolutely sure with what they discover, and they try to cover it up by saying, this is a continuing process of science or discovery. The Qoran 1400 years ago have revealed all these phenomenon so surely & so accurately than have been proven a fact to these days. HoYava or other theories will soon finds its exit too when new discoveries are made.
Who can understand an ancient book written in several languages? First you need to understand all the idioms of the languages that were in play at that time in history. Take English for example. How many new slang phrases and new expressions have come about in just the past decade?
Hi Solomon, I have read your last two posts and must confess you don’t appear to make sense. At one point though, you asked me: “What about the big bang?”
Do you think that science just arbitrarily came up with that possibility out of the blue? Obviously not. The use of scientific methods were applied to arrive at a logical possibility. Do I understand all the math involved? No. Will I ever? Probably not. Is the big bang a fact? No, however evidence exists which makes it plausible. You are correct about science changing it’s stance on a topic when new evidence is brought to bare. That is the beauty of it. It is sad that religions do not adopt this more intelligent way of thinking. Perhaps we would have a cure for many more diseases by now. If you actually put forth valid evidence for your god, I would give it very serious consideration immediately. Yet all you do is rant about an old book. Nostradamus made a few predictions too. So what?
My question to you is the same as yours. What about the big bang?
Also, you keep reverting back to your old book as if it were some magic bullet that people should revere. Yet, it offers nothing of scientific significance, at least not that I am aware of. For the record, obtaining multiple meanings from it’s verses is a fact. One need only look around the world to see it on a daily basis. For you to imply that it has been PROVEN is simply wrong and we have already had this discussion. Like it or not, it is just like other religious books, no better, no worse. You believe it’s perfect, just like Christians believe the bible is. A lack of evidence makes you both wrong.
Here is a friendly test/suggestion. Try examining the god topic without automatically assuming that she/he/it exists. Begin with no reason to believe at all, (like a child who has never been introduced to any of it), then attempt to seek VALID evidence that she/he/it does. First look for scientific evidence, then read EVERY major religious book. This may help open your eyes.
Dear Holysmokes,
So you think you can cheat the viewers by repeatedly labelling real believers as terrorrists. The only one who is cheated is You & your lots, but you don’t realize it. Truth will prevail & deceit will perish. Thats gods promise.
Dear Holysmokes,
After reading your comments I feel that we are going nowhere with every one of you trying to defend their views even though they are absolutely wrong or have been swayed far from the right path.
You all are only depending on your brain & your 5 senses which is lend by god temporarily. You did’nt spare a second to use your thought or heart to wonder. Even if you try to wonder, your faithfull friend the SATAN will quickly persuade you to brush off the idea.
What is holding you to defy there is god? Even god himself ask the same question. Let me show you a simple example. Suppose you are a carpenter. Then you decide to built a table that can talk. After completing the beautiful table you dressed it with a beautiful table spread. Then you ask the table gently. Dear table who creat you? Suddenly the table answer. Nobody creates me! Now does that make sense if youre the man of truth? The same goes to you. You cannot deny, your brains, your 5 senses and everything of you is created. Suddenly you go against the creator by claiming nobody create you. Please give that a thought.
If as you say man created a table; is not man, the creator, the god to that table and following in that same logic thus without man; there would be no god.

Sol – Yes, I’m ready to repent. I was agnostic and you’ve pushed me into the atheist camp with your obscurantist babbling.

Today in the Religion of Peace:
“Bomb kills 6 at Shiite procession in Iraq’s Diyala”
Peace it up! Maybe they mean “Pieces” as in what you get blow to if you don’t believe in the right successor. What a bunch of Shiite.
