The answer is simple.Tell your grandchildren its true that god created everything, but god is not a thing that follow the rules of the mind.God exist on his own.Thats the power or speciality of god that the minds could not have the thought of.
Ah, god. The “uncaused cause”. So, prior to the big bang (or big bounce) god, either physically or as some sort of ghost existed, by definition, outside. I dare you to try and get your mind around the unavoidable implications. Prior to the big bang, there was no time. Absent time, how can an entity take action? There are more paradoxes
So, the theist contends “everything must have a cause”. What about god, you say. God is eternal, they say.
The theist therefore admits there are things without causes e.g. god. If you admit that not everything must have a cause then why is it necessary to compound the mystery of the big bang with an even bigger mystery – god?
THE QUESTION IS ,IF WE CREATED GOD ,THEN WHO CREATED US ?? YOU CAN NEVER CATCH THE DRAGON`S TAIL .IN EVOLUTION EVERYTHING AT IT`S OWN CONVENIENCE WILL SHOW IT`S FORM .TO SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL WOULD SURELY BE THE END .
Our minds works in a certain way.It will always ask a question, where is the start, where does it ends.As the workings of the minds is limited it will always ask for a limit. But can you figure out the limits or ends of our universe. If you say the universe have its ends then what lies beyond it?You see your mind can’t figure it out.
Who cares if you or your masters say “Prior to the big bang, there was no time. Absent time” Who knows better than you or your masters? Time is not a significant factor for anything to exist.Time is relative.Look at the tree for example. It takes time to grow. What if its growth is speeded up tremendously. It would appear right before your eyes as though its magic. The time that man know now is just a calibration of it,the hours, minutes & seconds.
“They ask you to hasten the punishment. God will not break His promise. A day with your Lord is equivalent to a thousand years in the way you count.”
(The Qur’an, 22:47)
This means 1 second to god is equivalent to 4.22 days as what we measure.See how god pass the knowledge regarding time.
This means some tree may be fully grown in 4.22 days or in 1 second.
See as Einstein beliefs it time is relative. It can be a few hours or a few days and it could also be at no time at all.
Man created god obviously. What most theists fail to recognise is that god has evolved as our species has evolved. There hasn’t always been a monotheistic belief and different gods have come and gone.
Questions bible bashers should ask themselves:
1) The bible says “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1)”. At the time ‘heavens’ referred to the stars, moon & Venus (possibly) as those things could be seen with the naked eye. But what about the other planets in our solar system? Why would god create those? In fact why would he create other solar systems? Why are we not at the centre of our own solar system if god created us?
2) Atheism 101 – Why did god first decide to populate Earth with dinosaurs?
3) Why did god reveal himself to us in the middle ages? Why not before then? Did he think the ancient Greeks (who had invented pantheon gods of their own) or Egyptians (who had more gods than they knew what to do with) didn’t deserve him?. Why not send Jesus to the Mayans a couple of thousand years earlier?
Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings. The reductio absurdum of the creator god is obvious to the most naive mind. What takes some thought is the consequences of that in the context of what we know about the physical origins of the universe. There is hard intellectual work or Goddidit. Lazy minds prefer the latter.
I have heard the question behind this quote answered many ways over the years, but only one answer rings true. Man invented god. It really is that simple. Who says so? Why the complete lack of evidence of course.
By the way “NoReflection” …can you shut off your CAPS? There is no need for yelling in here. Yup, I’m the room’s “caps button” police. ;o)
Tech…take the challenge by answering Peb’s chicken feed questions.I can easily answere it on your behalf but I think the questions are directed to you.
We do not know how old her grandchildren were, but the inference is that they were kids when they asked this question.
Even children recognize the audacity of superstition.
I certainly hope that grandma explained that humans create superstitious beings when we are afraid or confused, and that then those ideas are seized upon by evil men who subsequently use them for power.
And I say men, because the last few thousand years is has been predominantly men abusing the masses with religious nonsense.
If you ever worry about the world being overrun by religious nut-jobs, just remember: Even kids can figure it out. There are ways to break this cycle of abuse, and that would include keeping children safely away from religious superstitions.
And, by showing the next generation that a rational explanation is always preferable to the irrational. Atheists, live your lives as icons of thought.
“Even children recognize the audacity of superstition.”
Sometimes ONLY children recognize the absurdity of superstition. I think EVERY child would ask these questions unless, of course, the parents meticulously stunt their child’s intellectual growth by making such questions off limits, out of bounds and punishable by eternal torture.
Captain, even when I think I have been slightly profound, you come along and point out the flaw in my statement.
Well said, I stand corrected.
Sometimes it is only the children who recognize the audacity of superstition, since the parents’ thought process has been thwarted by the dogma of islam, xtianity, or other delusory prattle.
Dear steve & the others Anon’s grandchildren just like other children are honest, sincere innocent creatures who are curious of many mysteries around them.Hear properly what they have said “If god created everything then who created god?” Can’t you all see that the children out of full concious have the default insight of a higher diety or creator that is god when they put forth those questions. You all are just blind or deft or just playing plain stupid by relating the childrens question to children recognising the audacity of superstitions.Just who are you tryin to fool?
The religious cannot create a consistent explanation for god’s existence. They are logical enough to conclude that we were created by our parents, and our parents were created by their parents and so on and so forth. Once the lazy mind of the religious arrives at a distant point in the creation regression they then break the logical consistency. They bring in something that cannot be created. Why? Why can’t they continue their logic?
Either:
1. Everything has to be created and introducing god requires something to have created god.
or
2. Everything has to be created and god is not part of everything i.e. god does not exist.
or
3. Not everything has to be created and arriving at an ultimate creator is irrelevant .
Religious, why do you make an exception for one thing (god) yet apply your logic (existence requires creator) to everything else? Why are you inconsistent?
The first dinosaur-like animal recovered by archaeologists from the Triassic Period in Africa, predating dinosaurs by 10ma years. Something interesting to think about!
Is it not just plain โHellโ the religious feel inside their narrow little minds when they can’t get their shit into the heads of the non-religious or non-cultist? It is so obvious that that truly messes with them.
I could live with BBQ every night. It’s Smoking!!!!
Dear MagicAintReal,
Talking about god is like talking about SPACE.But is much more mysterious than space.
Imagine, where does space ends? There is no end.If there is no end how it should be?So talking about god is no simple subject matter. Its beyond our knowledge. The only knowledge about god is what god reveals in the Qoran. So your previous questions becomes irrelevant and unsignificant.
