“Religions like Christianity are abusive insofar as they encourage people to feel inadequate, worthless, dependent, and deserving of harsh punishment. Such religions are abusive insofar as they teach people to accept the existence of a god which, if human, would have long ago been shut away in prison for all his immoral and violent behavior.”

  1. Braathwaate Says:

It always seemed to me that the Bible had the hero & the villain confused.

  2. j sutton Says:

Do what I sayeth, not what I doeth – as the priest said to the choirboy.

  3. tech Says:

I think you are all confused.Nothing but a bunch of reprobates . No respect for anyone or God.You will all be dealt with in due time.As for the quote I’ve been a Christian most of my adult life. The quote is just what the author believes to be true.

  4. solomon Says:

tech, you as well as the Atheists are confused too. I guess your advice to the them are somewhat useless. You and the rest of the Atheists will at last be chased to HELL! Why? Coz’ you imply God having a son. I’am in heaven…….Naaaa…na na naa naaa….

  5. Bornagain A. Theist Says:

tech, you know perfectly well that you wouldn’t keep coming back to this blog if you weren’t full of doubts. That’s nothing to be ashamed of or defensive about. If you clear your mind and begin by doubting everything you have ever heard or read or studied about your religion – and then you begin to try to rebuild your understanding based on evidence, you will find it virtually impossible. How is that “being confused”? Why are we “reprobates” for basing our lack of belief in mythology on a lack of evidence. Atheists don’t believe in gods for the exact same reason that you don’t believe in unicorns or thor.

For you to say the we “will be dealt with in due time” falls right into the heart of the quote itself and your saying it IS EVIDENCE that supports the FACTUALITY of the quote itself. It isn’t something the author “believes” to be true. It is a clear statement of fact based reality.

  6. Rozmarija Grauds Says:

I’ve envied Christians all my life, especially when I was a girl! My Catholic school girlfriends felt free to be sexually active, drink and carouse because they could go to Confession and be “absolved”, while I only had my conscience to answer to, and live by moment to moment choices based on circumstances and calculated positive outcomes to actions. Atheism is a burden in that we live in the world of consequences to any decision, where we must take responsibility for ALL our judgments. Still, I’d rather chart my own course than be tied to mumbling scribblings from an uninformed era in deep history.

  7. solomon Says:

Rozmarija Grauds, you are indeed a stubborn woman. Don’t you ever wonder for a moment who could have created everything around you that requires delicate process, countless materials, intricate design, well balanced and in equilibrium. Does that all needs high technology and intelligence? Can all those just exists on its own?

  8. The Heretic Says:

    Yes. It can.

  9. Hypatia Says:

Can all those just exists on its own?

Can an omnipotent, omniscient God just exist on its own?

  10. Braathwaate Says:

Solomon, I have never been able to understand the circular reasoning of “believers”. The premise of their argument “everything has a cause” is contradicted by the conclusion “God did not have a cause” You can’t require that everything except what you are arguing for needs a designer.

  11. solomon Says:

The atheists are just living on their own make belief world so that they can follow whatever their lusts demands. There’s no truth at whatever they bring forth. Even a simple toy needs a designer, what about creating a simple creature, the housefly for example. Who could have done that?

  12. solomon Says:

I think the Heretic is already out of his mind.

  13. holysmokes Says:

Solomon, I refuse to believe that you could possibly be as stupid as you pretend to be. If a rule applies to the toy, then it applies to the toymaker. What part of that don’t you get?

  14. Braathwaate Says:

EXACTLY! If functional complexity requires a designer, how do you account for the functional complexity of the mind of the designer?

  15. Hypatia Says:

If a rule applies to the toy, then it applies to the toymaker. What part of that don’t you get?

Sol doesn’t get it either because

    1) he’s stupid

    2) he’s so emotionally bound to his faith he’s in denial

    There is no other explanation.

  16. Rozmarija Grauds Says:

DEar Solomon, yes, LIFE and all the wonders in this biosphere just need a little bits of each of these inert sunstances
Aluminum Arsenic Boron Bromine Cadmium Calcium Carbon
Chlorine Chromium Cobalt Copper Fluorine Germanium Hydrogen
Iodine Iron Magnesium Manganese Molybdenum Nickel Nitrogen
Oxygen Phosphorus Potassium Selenium Silicon Sodium Sulfur

Those original single cell LIFE bits were cast about in the primordial soup and as they evolved, as they blindly took bites of this and that, their new generations acquired new features. And here WE are.

  17. tech Says:

Solomon take your foot out of your mouth and put your sock back on.Oh and whatever it is your on cut back on the dose of that as well.I believe in God that he is almighty,That he had a son Jesus Christ.I also believe that the third person of the trinity the holy spirit lives within me. No Sol you do not believe as do.You don’t believe in Jesus the way I do. Put me with with the atheists if you want, some of them make more sense than you do.

  18. Atheist MC Says:

As has been observed and the spat between sol and tech illustrates. It is impossible for all religions to be true, however it is possible they are all false.

  19. solomon Says:

No holysmokes, you are the most stupidest(is this word found in the vocabulary?) person I’ve bumped into. If the same rule apply to both the toy and the toymaker then ask the toy to create his toymaker you DUMB ASS!!!

  20. solomon Says:

The functional complexity of the mind of the designer will be the MOST intelligent, MOST creative, MOST knowledgeable and MOST of everything else.

  21. solomon Says:

Your stupidity is at Par with holysmokes coz’

    1) you’re either stubborn.

    2) you refuse to accept truth

There no need for other more comments.

  22. solomon Says:

    Rozmarija Grauds,

Here we are a product of a mixture of soup. I wonder where will my nose be located if this is true.

  23. solomon Says:

I’am telling the truth. In the day of resurrection do you want to march to Hell with your master the POPE leading the way? There no whatsoever knowledge being brought forth saying god having a son. That is all created lies by the christian scholars. The motives behind idolizing God is (as the atheists put it) to take control of humans. Can’t you see the similarity of your God with other fake Gods? IDOLIZE. Thats what it is. THe physiology behind it is to create a stone solid heart…that is an idol, a solid material.

  24. YourSkepticalGuy Says:

    To: Solomon:

“There no need for other more comments.”

If only we could be so lucky and you quit typing and spend some time developing some ability to think.

At first I was going to write that we would be lucky if we received nothing more from you, then I thought that is what you have been writing. Nothing.
Then, it occurs to me your posts are less than nothing.

Your inability to think is far more suggestive of evolution or unintelligent design than of intelligent design because you give the impression of being a few gears short of any competent pocketwatch. But to be fair, you may be evocative another sort of machine – you ever hear of Rube Goldberg?

  25. solomon Says:

    Atheist MC,

You won’t get anywhere with your lousy statement. Why don’t you just shut up.

  26. John Says:

I have it on good authority that old solomon is a preacher.

  27. solomon Says:

You can only say NOTHING without a sound argument. Put forth what the nothing is all about and lets have a debate on it.

I bet you will have NOTHING to talk about.

  28. Braathwaate Says:

Solomon, if the functional complexity of the mind of the designer is the most, what about the mind that designed it?

  29. solomon Says:

Braathwaate, when we talk about the designer, we are talking about god. So there will be no other minds above him. With that, your question becomes insignificant.
