“The European Union is primarily a global exemplar of conflict resolution. The shared democratic and secular institutions of the Union have, at last, successfully dissolved most of the violent, and often religious, conflicts of European history.”

Well that is a stupid and uninformed quote, if I ever heard one. Muslims are moving in, in droves, and multiplying like rabbits. Maybe all of the riots and burnings in France were just secular marches of excited youth? This is only going to get worse. Muslims already terrify citizenry across Europe. A few key terrorist bombings can change the political thought of a country. Just ask Spain. The next 20 years should be a real eye opener for this moron.

  2. Atheist MC Says:

What secularism there is will be fighting a tide of eastern european religiosity as it expands. When Turkey joins it will also have a Muslim component. don’t think this quote bears any relationship to reality.

Not for the first time, I have to disagree with everybody so far. Proinsias is wrong in that although Europe is largely free of overt violent conflict, there is still a huge underlying anger and resentment bubbling under the surface waiting for a suitable excuse to boil over into violence.
The Heretic displays a fear of Islam bordering on paranoia. As a citizen of Europe, I am not terrified. Why should I fear Islam and its excesses any more than I should fear christianity and its excesses?
AMC is wrong in that he displays a similar paranoia. As a secularist, I don’t feel the need to fight anything. Common sense and logic will prevail eventually. Mankind will become extinct either by the spread of religions that desire to wipe out each other, or human greed (justified by religion or otherwise) will render the planet uninhabitable. The End is Nigh!! so why not enjoy what’s left of life and humanity instead of wasting time living in fear?

    Youre right Grumpy Old Git,
The Atheists are unnecessary living in fear of this peacefull religion. The threats theyre dealing is only in their dark minds. That is the result of too many sins conducted to God. God made their minds unstable, unconfident & allways in a worry while ‘you’ and I have all the sweet time enjoying life the fullest without any worry whatsoever.

    Grumpy Old Git
I’m not sure which is the better condition;paranoia or nihilsm 🙂

Anyway sometimes a soundbite comment hides true intent.
The problem with peaceful Islam is not that it is inherently a threat to life or political stability. It is more that it is a mindset that elevates superstition above rationality. When the E.U has to consider that demographic in what should be secular political debate, there is a danger that poor decisions will be made.
Religionists expect their fairy tale views to be accomodated, hence violations of church and state in the U.S.
Another point about Islam is that Muslims expect it to take priority over national law and will attempt to shape law to conform to sharia to varying degrees.

I think De Rossa is simply wrong. While I can see the EU has enjoyed the benefits of lowered levels of superstition of the christian variety, (largely due to education levels, not politics) the Heretic is correct that there is indeed a massive influx of some of the more violent religions, such as Islam.

And worse yet, as we speak, there is an incursion into the realm of the Holey Doughnut.

This must be stopped! What is next? Bialys? The horror overwhelms.

  7. Braathwaat Says:

15,000 deadly terror attacks committed explicitly in the name of Islam in just the last eight years. (Other religions combined for perhaps a dozen or so). That doesn’t sound like sucess to me!

  8. Braathwaat Says:

Islam, the religion of peace (and a big stack of dead bodies)! Solomon, how can you or anyone claim that Islam is a peaceful religion? Islam is, has always been & always will be a violent & barbaric religion.

I suspect you know better than to direct any query in Solomon’s direction, particularly in response to anything s/he writes. Even more especially if you truly want any considered, understandable, and/or rational response.

I will second a motion made by GodKilla a few days back regarding GodKilla’s proposal to all of us: simply ignore the rants and incoherent mumblings from Solomon until/unless Solomon demonstrates s/he is something other than a troll that delightfully tries to derail the various conversations.

I do not believe anyone could point to anything constructive or contributory posted by Solomon suggestive that Solomon knows how to politely behave in civilized society. Her/His postings, the tone, and spirit are some of the best indicators of the lack of civility of this islam religion s/he spouts.

Solomon really is irrelevant and ignorance will be bliss. Just my 2 dinars worth. I know I’ve had many a laugh and chuckle at Solomon’s expense, but invariably reading her/his posts and responding does highjack the discussion from something potentially meaningful and valuable.

  11. solomon Says:

    Braathwaat ,
Islam is indeed a peaceful religion. All the killings, violent & barbaric acts were not the teachings of Islam & not the work of a devout muslim.

  12. solomon Says:

It seems that you’re ready to give up to the one & only theist on this site. Are you and all of your Atheists friends is chickening out by not able to cope with the arguments with this one guy huh?

  13. solomon Says:

I see no much significant in the number doctrine. Just a planned arrangement of it, which may fits a pattern if you work it backwards. Don’t be too obsessed.

  14. Braathwaat Says:

Solomon, to suggest Islam is peaceful is as absurd as a Nazi saying the same thing! The most devout muslim’s are the ones the world fears most & the cause of 90%+ of all the terror on this planet!
