    I use the word. Where a theist is a person with belief in god(s), and athiest being without, it is a means of clarifying my faith status in a single word.

    I suggest if pixie belief were as widespread as god(s) belief he’d have a single word to quickly clarify where he is at.

    Although I agree with you SS, he has a point. Having a word for a null status is weird. Just as trying to prove a negative is impossible, labeling yourself as null seems to defy logic. But, I think therefore I am atheist.

    And yet, when considered from a mathematical standpoint, the very concept of a null requires a referent, since the null is the center point of the number line. The problem, of course, is that there is nothing below null in this context.

    Sorry, TH, but the reference to Descartes set me to thinking in this direction.
