“In Saudi Arabia I found every bookshop I went to had been censored, book titles had been changed, faces of people in magazines altered, especially women's faces, women's bodies had been blacked out by felt tip pens by some ministry somewhere. It made me think about what we take for granted here in Britain, here in the west, the total liberty to think, associate, gather, write, speak about issues, this liberty that then leads to human progress.”
