Hell, the whole process of having sex through religious ideologies is perverted… Don’t have sex until you’re married, don’t think about sex until you’re married, do not touch your own body in any sexual manner, don’t think about the other gender’s (or even your own gender’s) body. Then, when you’re finally married, don’t think about your partner’s body, don’t want your partner’s body, and then some how produce an offspring that will do the exact same thing with their life.
WTFH!? 0.o
Religion: Avoiding anything that might be considered disgusting from an already natural human process.
Who says or did “when you’re finally married, don’t think about your partner’s body, don’t want your partner’s body”. Thats the best experience one could encounter in married life. A clean sin free sex life.
GreatEighthSin , youre goin to hell!! What do you care.
One word: lust. Marriage may absolve the sin, but is it truly enough to please the “holy” being? Especially with all these new found fads these kids are spreading.
Oh, and I’ll be seeing you and your pride down there with me, nom. Granted who’d want to hang out with a “loving” being that endorses a place of eternal torment all because you question His ways and speak against Him. That’s like hanging around a king that will lop off your head if he doesn’t like what you said to him. Might as well hang out with Hitler himself at that rate.
In order for religion to get its hooks into you it first has to convince you there’s something wrong with you – you’re ‘sinful’ and it has the cure. Sex is nice so therefore sinful and you’re sinful for wanting it. But we can help perverts like you! Nice.
The quote put in mind the odd and seemingly destructive practice of chastity for catholic priests. I don’t think their continuing troubles with pedophilia are a coincidence. I think their weird little brotherhood attracts two types: homosexuals (who are NOT more likely to be pedophiles on that fact alone) and the sexually repressed (who may be). The experiment in an all-male and chaste priesthood has failed miserably. It’s impossible to suppress our natural sexual urges and deeply harmful to try.
Tech – Even ‘beasts’ have morals. There’s been good research on it if you’d care to look it up. Dogs and monkeys understand fairness. A monkey will drown itself to save it’s confederates. Homo dosen’t have a lock on this evolved trait although our development of it is much more complex.
Sex is the real and true basic animal instinct that ties all humans to the animal in us and it’s kingdom. One that religion can not wish (pray) away with it’s frightful sky-being stories. You can just see them (the preachers) just agonize over the fact that a human can find pleasure from and in their own bodies and don’t need the the “belief” for pleasure. Then there is the mind virus control issue that the preachers are afraid the believers will wake up from. Ah, another posting…
Sexual Perversion – serious deviation from “normal” sexual practice. Chastity – serious conformance to “normal” sexual practice. In the western world, chastity is often used interchangeably with sexual abstinence in general, particularly pre-one-man-one-woman-marriage-sex-stuff.
Given the broad meaning, I do not believe chastity can be a sexual perversion if we properly understand and apply those terms. For the quote to be correct, we need chastity to refer to sexual abstinence and for abstinence to be widely practiced (which does not appear to be the case).
Thus, to be chaste would actually include active sexual behavior – whenever/wherever/whatever/whoever. Abstinence is the perversion, just as I believe the quote is taken to mean.
Skept, it’s not actually referring to a sexual perversion like a kink or fetish, it is stating that the idea itself is perverted; as in being a twisted idea.
Also, morals are a non-existent ideology. Morals are neither objective (God given), nor subjective (natural passed trait). Instead they’re a learned process from observance through infancy. An infant does not know of things like how you can kill someone with a knife or gun. It learns these processes through observance of it’s parents and society. Murder exists because we know that a sharp object can pierce flesh and remove life. We as human beings take our anger to such selfish levels that we want to completely remove our opposition from life itself.
