Lol, true. And the fact that His own creation has turned out more just than He is.

I might state that my guess is that if the Lord of the Rings books where discovered in our dust; that trilogy might be interpreted as our history. Boogie, boogie…

The quote above is said by a comedian. That explains a lot. lol indeed.
September 12th, 2010 at 8:12
Some of the great comedians can hold a mirror up to life and make us laugh at the truth. Some of them do it with religion: George Carlin, Dara O Briain and Woody Allen to name but three. This quotation is an example and it looks accurate to me.

I disagree with Woody Allen on this one. I think that the best you could say is that he’s an underacheiver. At worst, he’s criminally negligent.
September 12th, 2010 at 12:16
tech is right………the woody allen comment is just a shot for a laugh…
and a cheap laugh at that. woody allen has been riffing on god for so
long , that after all these decades his material has worn out.
well, he’s in his 70s now….so it wont be too much longer, and all of his
questions and apprehensions about god are gonna get answered one way
or another !!!
TA-TA WOODY !!!!!

teddy,
What are you talking about?? Relgions and their believers can’t help themselves but be unintentionally comedic. The capacity to make fun of them for willful stupidity will never end.
September 12th, 2010 at 14:04
Willful stupidity ?Dan do you think you come across on this as having great intelligence? Lol think again
September 12th, 2010 at 14:06
To call someone stupid does not make a man smart.
September 12th, 2010 at 15:42
GreatEightSin,
You allways agree even to silly lousy quotes without further thought as long as it mock god.
September 12th, 2010 at 15:51
I have never come across a group of ‘human’ that not only posess a hign degree of stupidity, but also condemned & cursed. They are the atheists.
September 12th, 2010 at 16:17
tech,
Do you seriously believe that worshiping an undead zombie, who was conceived by a ghost, isn’t stupid, ridiculous, or insane? Seriously… just take a look at the religions of the world. It seems that they take a lot of effort to come up with the most impossible things, and then glorifying them.
September 12th, 2010 at 17:51
Have the theists who replied today actually thought about the quote? Think about the power god supposedly has. Now think about what he has achieved since our initial creation.
Well…what did you come up with? How many prayers go unanswered each night? How many ‘other than yours’ religions crop up without reaponse or retribution?
I think there are 2 possible answers. One is the fact that people like teddy believe in god. Teddy thinks it is funny that Woody Allen has more days behind him than in front. Not very Christian of him and no doubt god is ashamed of followers like teddy so doesn’t show his face.

Why is it that all this stuff allegedly happened back when nothing now can now be or is provable? Sorry all, words written down in a book by the ruling class priests of the day or a later day pedophile don’t make it so.
September 12th, 2010 at 22:43
it’s amazing to me that people really do “see what they want to see.’
PEB……….you completely mis-read my earlier comment. it’s obvious that your knowledge of woody allen’s work…….movies, books, and plays,……
is entirely superficial.
and, FYI, i have no belief in God.
September 12th, 2010 at 22:56
I have less than a superficial knowledge of Woody Allen. Personally I never saw what all the fuss was about.
I re-read your post and I still don’t understand? Perhaps you should actually try making a point.
September 13th, 2010 at 0:33
teddy,
If you don’t believe in God, that means you still have’nt found the true path yet. Keep trying. You’re almost near.
September 13th, 2010 at 2:45
Well, Crocco. Let’s analyze what I said. I said that humanity has become more just than God Himself. Let’s analyze how humans and God deal with troublesome people. People have created laws and a prison system. You steal, you go to jail for a few months, pay fines, then have the opportunity to wipe their hands clean and start over. You tempt someone to murder another, you then get more of a punishment in the system than the murderer, finish your sentence, then have the opportunity to wipe yourself clean again.
God on the other hand, is far more unjust in this analysis. If you steal, you get to go to a beautiful place where you will burn, fester, writhe, scream, and continually be tormented for all of eternity with no opportunities to start over. He will not only allow you to be tempted with murder, but he will be the tempter and receive absolutely no punishment. This “loving” being runs around with a “get out of jail free” card with no one to stand against Him if He does commit “evil”. Is this either fair or “good”? Hell no. Of course, this is also the being that has asked upon others to murder millions and even murder all of life because He felt they were “evil” without even considering once if the next generation would truly be “evil” or not.
September 13th, 2010 at 6:52
Well said GreatEighthSin.
September 13th, 2010 at 10:57
PEB………if you didnt understand WHAT I WAS SAYING……….then WHY
did you leave a reply ????
September 13th, 2010 at 18:07
No…I still don’t understand how I could have read your post any other way?
Frankly I’m past caring.
