“Something is terribly wrong in the pro-life movement. Civility, charity, mercy and politeness seem to have dropped out of the pro-life lexicon. Through vicious attacks launched on blogs, a new form of self-righteousness, condemnation and gnosticism reveals authors who behave as little children bullying one another around in schoolyards.”

Self-righteousness and condemnation of others is a general characteristic of Christians, not specific to pro-life activism.

    Go Father!

There are many Christian organizations that run themselves in the exact same order. Each one starts out quite civil, then quickly becomes radical. Each one uses a book of “love” and twists in into a book of their own personal agendas filled with hatred. Much of the time, they also fill their minds with propaganda and false information derived from either false sources, or even personal feelings, then claim to be self-righteous and doing God’s work (why would God need you to do his work if He is all powerful…? Never quite got that one).

One thing that just kills me with pro-lifers, is the fact that they use a small majority of Christians who had an abortion and regret it, as a big glowing trophy. They gallantly parade these women on stage like some prized mule. The problem is, there is no clear cut answer to abortion in the bible. It doesn’t even really say when life begins, either. Another joke that pro-lifers use, is that you are “murdering an independent life”. A human life isn’t even conscious until after the 21st-23rd week, and that life is fully dependent on the person carrying it. In all honesty, I view pro-lifers as nothing more than Christian feminazis. Women who generally get abortions, rarely ever regret it, and if the bible wasn’t in the way, pro-choice would definitely be law.

Thank you Tech for demonstrating how irrational condemnation works.

    Your welcome Dan.

Recent events in stem cell research indicates amazing results that will soon bring about treatments for some devastating human afflictions. I’m hoping, on principles alone, the antiabortionist, refuse treatment. Perhaps with fewer mindless individuals corrupting their children we will have fewer of these types. Imagine how far we could have progressed without the repressive religious right. Thanks for nothing Tech. You and your ilk are the problem, not the solution.

The problem with christianity is that their scholars twist Gods words for their benefit & due to hatred. This is very true.
