“If Roman Catholic bishops are going to start pressuring Catholic politicians to pursue the church's agenda in public legislation, by denying communion to politicians who don't 'toe the line' they should not be surprised to find non-Catholic voters reluctant to vote for Catholic candidates.”

    Aren’t they already reluctant?

In the uk, religion is not seen favourably by a large portion, so is kept hidden. “we don’t do god” alistair Campbell.

Thankfully we have a long tradition of mocking stupidity!

I admire the position, Depends, but I’ve read a lot of troubling things about governmental sops to the Islamic community in the area of government funded ‘faith’ schools. Be careful lest you be out bred and out immigrated as is well under way in France. Soon it won’t be the catholic or protestant faiths one needs to worry about.

  4. Doubting Thomas Says:

Captain Zero -You are so right – All it takes for evil to Flourish is that good men do nothing. We should learn from the Fijian experience who were nearly swamped by aliens from the Indian subcontinent until they took the necessary political steps to reverse it They now control their own country again.
