You could certainly shorten that quote.
“Religion is a haven for manic-depressives.”

Equally, no Messenger came to those before them without their saying, ‘A magician or a madman!’ Did they bequeath this to each other? Indeed they are an unbridled people. (Surat adh-Dhariyat, 52-53)
They say, ‘You, to whom the Reminder has been sent down, are clearly mad. (Surat al-Hijr, 6)
See, Allah get all their lousy thoughts covered.

Quoting nonsense to support nonsense. Nice.

Solomon = liar
Solomon = homophobe
Solomon = typical Muslim

An AK 47 prevents the believers of islam from thinking and thus knowing the truth about their pedophile dictator so one needs to feel sorry for them.
Back to the quote:
Why is it that the religious either want to control or get into your underwear or your mind?
February 22nd, 2010 at 7:22
God knows better what’s in your underwear or your mind. The religious are just messengers. Its their duty to spread gods message.
Your lots have been following the footsteps of the devil all along. The devil will not be accountable for you following his footsteps.Youre on your own in facing hell.

Mohammed the Prophet, John,steve,
Provide fossil proofs of the gradual transformation of ape to man.
You lousy rants will not be able to.

Here’s a handy list of transitional fossils that terminate (so far) in the genus Homo Sapiens.

Great article from The Observer on the latest theories about the famous “Hobbit” – Homo floresiensis – fossils found on the island of Flores in Indonesia in 2004.

Fascinating evolutionary history we human beings have. You ought to try reading about your fellows, Solomon, instead of wasting your efforts condemning them. No doubt you will refuse to read anything that might challenge your tiny, useless, psychotic image of God. Oh well – there’s always hope?

Great link, Cap’n. Thanks! Especially liked rhiggs’ responses to the comments of the anonymous “Christian scientist,” and the Big Lebowski Random Quote Generator. Solomon will not link there, though. He/she/it has no interest in the acquisition of knowledge and/or wisdom. Ol Sol is the kind of religionist todays quote is all about.

Hmm Gona be a lot of sad faces from this site come judgment day hhmmm

Dear CaptainZero1969 ,
The evolutionist could’nt get a decent set of fossil transformation proofs from ape to man by trying to deceive into showing some lousy fossil photos. Each transformation from ape to man must have arrive in millions of the each species population.Yet they can’t even get a single fossil proof they are satisfied with their silly discovery. Disgusting, shame and a sigh for laughs.
Waaaaaaaa……….Ka..Ka…Ka…Ka…

The quote included manic depressives and left out delusional crazies that spew hatred.
February 22nd, 2010 at 15:17
Well done Captain, and thank you. I am impressed with how quickly you laid that out for our resident idiot’s benefit. His attempt at a red herring has been quickly dealt with.
It almost makes one think that the subject has been addressed before. Could it be that there is some resistance to rational thought?
Sollie, remember the second half of that dictionary definition for superstitious? 2:a notion maintained despite evidence to the contrary.
You are still the poster child.
Oxy – that was really a nice link. The Internet gives us access to peer reviews, and that is truly a wonderful thing, but I also really appreciated the great set of photos. What a project! Can you imagine finding shale rock like that which flakes off so well? That has to be a really fun site to work.
Mohammed, your succinct responses had me chuckling. But I am serious when I ask this question: Is Sollie truly a typical Muslim? I have not had that much experience with Muslims; he or she does seem to be a typical religious zealot. Are you telling me that all Muslims are that wacky?
I am starting to regret my conversations with him/her/it. Actually, I should not even question Sollie’s gender, as it is truly irrelevant.
Thank you all for the interesting links and comments.

Solomon. Again you just say things with no substantiatian, “Each transformation from ape to man must have arrive in millions of the each species population.” If I understand your incomprehensible statement correctly, you are saying that all species should have the transitional elements of ape to man in their evloutionary history. Why is that a requirement for evolution of man?
Also, we are a transitional element in the evolution of Ape to man because we in fact are modern apes. Solomon. Just please look up information on our 2nd chromosome. Seriously take an analytical look at the telomeres and centromeres and refute the fusion of two ape chromosomes into our 2nd chromosome. Like really look at the chromosome. It’s fascinating to see the fusion if you just really analyze the chromosome. This is more than enough substantial evidence to show that we are descendants from apes and that we are a transitional element in the apes evolution. Your “Disgusting, shame and a sigh for laughs is unwarranted.

It may surprise a few of you when I say that belief in a religion should be allowed for manic depressants. It gives them something to ponder beyond their own (self appointed) miserable existence. Or we can give them a few pills and cheerful board game to play everyday. Either way, they do seem to require help. It seems unlikely that religion can make things worse, unless one of them decides to , “make suicide bombers” out of them.
February 22nd, 2010 at 17:19
The quote is cute but not true, because naturally the followers of any given religion assume they are going to heaven. It’s the rest of us that are going to hell, atheists and followers of other religions alike (this means you too Sol, are you sure you’re backing the right horse? I mean,em> really sure?)
February 22nd, 2010 at 17:59
Eternity in heaven sounds incredibly boring. When we die we goto the same place where we never existed before we were born.
Heaven was surely created only to pacify those people who wasted their ‘real’ life worrying about gods & religion.
Stop praying and start living.

Look, the truth is that evolutionary theory is no threat to religion. Those who see it as a threat are saying something far more critical of their own religion than of evolution. But because they are so, er . . . commited . . . to their one-size-fits-all notion of what religion MUST mean (an issue for some atheists as well), they fail to see the wonders staring them right in the face. As much as the fundies and literalists and creationists irritate and frustrate and even anger me AS A RELIGIONIST, I also find them very, very sad and pitiable. Which is not to say that I am apologizing in any way for the strong, mocking criticism I have articulated against them (and will continue to articulate) on this site and others.
No religionist, sacreligionist, or no-religionist on this site or any other will ever get Sol to see the beauty of evolution because Solomon decided long ago to intentionally choose blindness over sight, judgement over discipline, ignorance over learning, certainty over doubt, and fear over awe. He is a fool. Ironic considering his name (but again, he doesn’t get irony). But keep trying anyway. You never know – stranger things have happened. Besides, I get some good info out of it even if poor, stupid Solomon won’t.
To Grim reaper, just between us religionists: Haven’t you heard? Jesus killed death. So put away your silly little ineffectual scythe and join the 21st century in progress or go back to the hole that shat you. Idiot.

Dedicated to sol/GR/tech:
One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. it is simply too painful to acknowledge — even to ourselves — that we’ve been so credulous. (So the old bamboozles tend to persist as the new bamboozles rise.) Solomon
You wrote “Provide fossil proofs of the gradual transformation of ape to man”
Can you clarify what you mean by “ape”?
Are you suggesting that we evolved from current apes (i.e.: ones that can now be viewed in captivity in a zoo)? Or are you referring to apes in the subfamily (Homininae), which include humans, gorillas and chimpanzees?
Please, this is a polite and serious question, so please be polite and serious in your response.
February 22nd, 2010 at 22:16
Hey Sol – can you clarify your objection? I’m not really following what you are objecting to. You keep bringing up transitional fossils but it’s not clear what problem you have. EVERY fossil is a transitional one because every organism is continually being reworked in some way to adapt it better to a changing environment. The fossil record is incomplete but that in itself is not a problem for evolution. The reason for this is pretty straight forward – fossilization is not the norm. They are rare and we’re lucky when we find them.
If your entire objection to evolution is solely based on a reading of a religious text, then you and this community really have nothing more to say to each other on the topic because there’s no amount of evidence that could move your off your position.
February 22nd, 2010 at 22:56
Hey Oxy – While I’ll agree the fact of evolution is compatible with at most a deistic or pan-theistic notion of a creator god, I’m curious if you’d agree that evolution “does in” the notion of a biblical god, that is, a personal one. My reasoning is thus: Jesus was sent to eliminate the stain of an original sin. Given that evolution rules out there having been original sinners, then there was no sin for the human sacrifice of Jesus to have been an absolution for. It seems to me that this demolishes the idea that the bible should be taken to be in any sense factual. Or perhaps I mean historical.

MagicAintReal,Holysmokes,Mohammed the Prophet,CaptainZero1969 & the rest of the Atheist fools.
You all follow Evolution blindly like a misguided fool.No amount of telomeres or chromosomes crap can answer the simple question where are the fossil proofs which must have existed in abundance if evolution is true.
Evolution is only created to confuse people, to defy gods creations.Evolution theory should be abolished.

I’am in no doubt at all. I’am very sure & confident & at ease. It’s you & your lots that is always in doubt & worry.

Dear steve ,
Thats all you can do.Create words,”bamboozled ” or “bullshit”.Thats all….
February 23rd, 2010 at 17:44
Dear Mohammed the Prophet ,
Theres no need to clarify men from apes or Homininae) or gorillas and chimpanzees? That is of no significant.Just provide the fossil proofs please.
February 23rd, 2010 at 17:55
Dear CaptainZero1969 ,
I have no objection at all.And don’t try to pretend what sort of fossil proofs I aquire. You can’t refute each transformation takes a long time.If you say each subsequent fossil undergoes transformation, the transformation I may accept is very very minute or negligible. There will be no significant transformation that one can accept. Each transformation must be significant, ie the gradual shortening of the tail, the mark difference in skull shape, the changes in the tooth structure and many others and each marked transition should take a long long time & each transformed species should exist in millions or perhaps billions.

Sollie, you poor fool, if you could only read you would see that was a quote from Carl Sagan. Wow. You really are a poster child for stupid.
